My name is Adriana Herdan. I am a Venezuelan Journalism student just like any other student you will ever come across in your life. But here’s the thing, after living in Paris, New York, Caracas and currently Boston I can pretty much say I know how to be foreign in any and every city I have ever resided in, and that includes my own.
I grew up in Caracas, but spent most of my summers in New York City or traveling around Europe. Traveling really is the love of my life and I wish to explore the world to its deepest extents. I’m a major foodie and also
a bit of a party girl a major party girl so I am naturally driven towards restaurants, bars and nightclubs. And what better way to learn about a culture than by eating how the locals eat and seeing how they entertain themselves? I also have a great sensibility towards art and fashion, which I believe are somewhat co-terminus since fashion is greatly inspired by art and vice versa.
In the summer of 2011 I interned in a magazine in Manhattan, where my eating and partying adventures reached their maximum potential. One thing I love about New York is the promise of eternal discovery; the city offers endless possibilities and with a small dose of curiosity there is so much you can find. I will be writing a lot about this city and the other ones I visit- and I visit a lot of cities.
However, even though I indulge in the more frivolous side of life, I am absolutely brilliant. No joke, sometimes I consider I am too smart for my own good which is why I throw in the occasional smart article here and there in my blog, because I believe it is my duty to make you a reader of substance. I am so much more than a ditz with a credit card. I hope you enjoy my blog, follow my eating and traveling advice and most importantly: learn something new everyday from the world that surrounds you.
I shut my eyes in order to see.
