After years of working as creative director of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld finally has his own brand. It’s about time, right?! The designer who invented the low-cut back LBD (thanks for that!) has been the mastermind behind Chanel since 1982 and had done a bit of freelance designing here and there. His new label, however, is named Karl and consists of a few “effortlessly cool” more affordable pieces such as biker leather jackets and little black dresses. The piece is much like the familiar ones we’ve seen Lagerfeld design for Chanel in the past, yet at a more reasonable price.
The line is described as a perfect combination of creativity and tradition. Karl utilized only colors that as he says “will never go out of style” as in black, white, burgundy, gray and pastel pink. The line is available online, exclusively at net-a-porter.com, and the first collection was sold out within hours of its launch in Berlin. Stay tuned for more coolness by Karl.
